Gustavo Gordillo, born in Villavicencio and raised in Bogotá, is the story behind 69 Business Group a chef whose journey into the kitchen began not from comfort, but from necessity. His love for cooking was born from an empty stomach, the need to survive, and the desire to build a better future.
At just 11 years old, he started working in a small chicken shop near his grandparents’ home. During the week, he helped sell empanadas, arepas, chorizo, and traditional Colombian food, earning his meals and learning what it meant to work for every opportunity. What began as a way to survive slowly became a passion that would define his life.
As he grew, Gustavo worked his way through kitchens starting as a dishwasher, observing, learning, and waiting for his moment. One day, when a cook didn’t show up, he stepped in without being asked. He prepared the kitchen, cooked the food, and proved he was ready. That moment changed everything. From there, he trained, studied, and worked alongside top chefs, eventually becoming a pastry chef and cooking for high profile clients, public figures, and major kitchens.
After years of experience in Colombia and Buenos Aires, Gustavo made a bold decision to move to New York, one of the most competitive culinary cities in the world. Not just to work, but to build something of his own. Today, that vision lives through 69 Business Group, a brand built on experience, sacrifice, culture, and the desire to create something that goes beyond food.
